Adult Leadership

We are looking for Scoutmasters and Crew Advisors with a sense of ADVENTURE to attend the 2023 National Scout Jamboree.  Leadership positions are filled by way of an interview selection process.  Only those leaders chosen for positions are permitted to attend with the council contingent. 

Each National Jamboree unit will have four leaders.

Scout BSA Troops:

  • Scoutmaster (must be 21 years old or above by the first day of Jamboree) and serving as a Scoutmaster in a Troop
  • 1st and 2nd Assistant Scoutmasters (must be at least 18 years old by the first day of Jamboree) and serving in any leadership role in a Troop
  • 3rd Assistant Scoutmaster (must be at least 18 years old by the first day of Jamboree but not yet 21 by the last day of Jamboree) and serving in any leadership role in a Troop
  • Must have completed Scoutmaster specific leadership training
  • Have completed Youth Protection within 1 year of the last day of Jamboree
  • Have completed Pennsylvania required background checks
  • Complete and submit a National Jamboree Medical form signed by a licensed physician
  • Must have completed additional trainings such as Wilderness First Aid, as required by National.
  • Submit all payments on time as per the established Council payment schedule

Venturing Crews & Sea Scout Ships:

  • Must be registered and serving as a Crew Advisor or Associate Advisor in a Venturing BSA Crew or as a Skipper or Mate in a Ship
  • Be at least 21 years old by the first day of Jamboree
  • Must have completed Venturing/Ship leader specific training
  • Have completed Youth Protection within 1 year of the last day of Jamboree
  • Have completed Pennsylvania required background checks
  • Must have completed additional trainings such as Wilderness First Aid, as required by National.
  • Complete and submit a National Jamboree Medical form signed by a licensed physician
  • Submit all payments on time as per the established Council payment schedule

Adults & Youth(16+ year old)

There is a critical need for Jamboree staff.  Jamboree staff enables a successful event for all youth participants.  Jamboree staffing needs span all activities and skills.

Please note: 

  • Jamboree staff members pay their fees directly to National through the National Scout Jamboree website.
  • Jamboree Staff are not a part of the Council Contingent and are responsible to provide their own transportation to and from the event.
