Mercer Area District Klondike Derby
February 22 - February 24
Due to the challenging nature of winter camping and the competition, this is a Scouts BSA event only. This event takes place snow, rain or shine, and will only be canceled if severe winter weather is forecast for the area.
To make these events successful and for all the Scouts and Scouters (like you) to have a great time, we need Scouters to help plan and execute the Klondike. Please contact Dave Yasko at email@example.com to offer your assistance. As in years past, stations are run by the attending units. Please contact us if you would like to run a particular station. Otherwise, one may be assigned to your unit at the leader meeting on Friday night.
In order to participate, patrols must have a Klondike sled and use it to carry their items from station to station. If there is no snow on the ground, patrols are allowed to attach wheels to the sled in order to prevent damage to the runners. See attached list of items required for each sled. Each participant should bring one can of soup for donation to T.A.S.K, the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen.
